The European Technology Platform for Zero Emission Fossil Fuel Power Plants (ETP ZEP) was launched on 1st December 2005 to better coordinate industry driven activities in zero emission fossil fuel power plant technologies.

Within the ETP ZEP the Government Coordination Group (former Mirror Group) is the body representing political institutions from the Member States.

FENCO-ERA provided administrative support in setting up the Government Group (GG, initially Mirror Group, MG). Common membership enabled joint meetings of the GG and the FENCO-ERA ExCo. Additionally FENCO-ERA has contributed towards to the outputs of the ZEP including generation of country profiles, participation at working group / task force meetings and commenting on major publications including the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) and the Strategic Deployment Document (SDD).
